About Michael

Michael Thompson is a real estate professional at Benchmark Realty, LLC with an extensive background in the K-12 education leadership. He is the founder of The Avenue Times magazine, an upscale lifestyle magazine. He started Michael David Media, a custom publishing company, in 1999, and has published other niche publications such as Mentor Magazine, Be More magazine, the Urban Residence Association publication, faith-based and non-profit conference guides, annual reports, and various books. Prior to starting the media business, Thompson served the local banking industry in credit operations, branch administration, as well as corporate and executive relocation services.

Through graphic design and publishing, Michael has supported many professionals, including award-winning real estate agents, insurance companies, landscapers, lenders, investors, and interior designers. He believes his unique ability to capture the essence of his clients’ vision sets him apart. He thrives on understanding and exceeding his customers’ expectations.

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. He also earned a master’s degree in Teaching and a doctorate degree in Leadership, each from Trevecca Nazarene University. He is an ENFP on Myers-Briggs and his top five strengths are Positivity, Intellection, Includer, Significance, and Adaptability. Michael enjoys real estate investing, spending time with his family, watching biographies, true stories, and time travel movies. He is a native Nashvillian and is married to his best friend, Deborah. They have two talented children, Jeremy and Savannah.
